Manjit Minhas
Minhas

Manjit Minhas is a petroleum engineering student turned beer baroness. She started Mountain Crest Liquors Inc. at the ripe age of 19 in Alberta. She followed up with the creation of Minhas Creek Brewing Company in Manitoba and Saskatchewan in 2008. Last year, Minhas’ companies had revenues in excess of $155 million. 

She has won several business industry awards, including Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs in Canada and Top Growth Entrepreneur Award from PROFIT magazine in Toronto.

Minhas, who also stars on CBC’s Dragon’s Den, is a born-and-raised Calgarian, and still lives in the city with her husband and two young daughters.

Minhas is the keynote speaker at the 2017 Forecast Conference and Tradeshow, and will focus her talk on the principles and entrepreneurial values that led her company to rapid success, how to identify the market gaps your competitors are ignoring and the ways to successfully market on a small budget.

Michelle Salt
Michelle Salt

Michelle Salt is the first female Paralympic Snowboarder for Canada as well a Calgary real estate professional, fitness model and public speaker.

Salt will be hosting a session on how to be your badass self!

Ann-Marie Lurie
Ann-Marie Lurie

Ann-Marie Lurie is CREB®'s chief economist and has 15 years of experience in the real estate sector.

Her diverse background in real estate has enabled her to provide insight into the macroeconomic climate and factors impacting the real estate market.

She has worked in several different aspects of real estate, including commercial brokerage, pension investment, residential real estate analysis and multi-family underwriting. The companies she has worked for include Colliers International, CMHC and Canadian Urban Equities.

Lurie joined CREB® as chief economist in February 2011. She is responsible for scoping, developing and leading the board’s economic analysis and market intelligence products.

By providing strategic leadership on economic analysis, she has helped establish CREB® as a credible and trusted source for economic commentary. Lurie has completed both her BA Honours and MA in Economics from the University of Calgary.

Matt Cohen

Matt Cohen, partner in Clareity Consulting, has consulted to top industry organizations and software companies for over 20 years. One of his specialties is information security.

Matt will be leading a PD session on understanding digital signing and document security.

Lubos K Pesta
Lou Pesta

Lubos “Legal Lou” Pesta has been a residential real estate lawyer in Calgary for close to 35 years. He was the legal advisor to AREA Standard Forms and Practice Committee from 1995 to 2014, and is a member of RECA Legal Advisors Group.

Pesta will be leading a PD session on how to avoid risk with tenant-occupied transactions.

Laurie Kiedrowski, a partner at McLeod Law LLP, is a condominium specialist. She works with developers, boards and property managers on all forms related to governance of property ownership.

Dale Koeller is a private mortgage lender with more than 15 years’ experience in the mortgage industry, including helping people out of foreclosure situations. He was recognized by the Real Estate Investment Network (REIN) in 2015 as the Alberta South Real Estate Professional of the Year and is a regular contributing writer to AMBA Matters Magazine.

Koeller will be co-hosting a PD session on helping clients navigate financial distress.

David P. Brown

David P. Brown began his career in retail sales and management and later moved into management in the banking industry. In 2001, Brown was looking for a more challenging career and was inspired by the vast areas of concentration in the real estate industry. After becoming licensed and meeting with several brokers, Brown launched his career in real estate in early 2002.

In 2012, Brown decided he wanted to do more and campaigned for and was elected to the CREB® Board of Directors. Within the board of directors, he was elected to the role as vice president and then as president for 2017.

Brown is extremely knowledgeable and is always available to offer guidance and support to other REALTORS®. He prides himself on being up to date on any new technology, governance policies and other issues that affect organized real estate and believes REALTORS® at all levels need to stay current.

Brown will be a panellist on the industry leaders panel. 

Bob Jablonski

Jablonski has been active licensed member of CREB® since October of 1987. He was proud to serve as CREB®'s president in 2012. He was appointed as an AREA director in 2013 and is the current president of the Alberta Real Estate Association and is honoured to take on that role.

Cliff Iverson
Cliff Iverson

Cliff Iverson is president of the Canadian Real Estate Association for 2016. Since 1978 Iverson has served on numerous committees, specifically the Board of Directors of the Association of Regina REALTORS® from 1989-1995, and as the president in 1994.

He joined the board of directors again from 2003-2006 culminating in the presidency again in 2005. At that time, Iverson joined the Board of Directors of the Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® and was named president for the year 2009. In 2010, he began his Directorship at the Canadian Real Estate Association chairing various committees as well as being a member of the Futures Implementation Team. In 2009, Iverson received the Association of Regina REALTORS® CMHC REALTOR® of the Year Award, and in 2011 he received the Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® distinguished REALTOR® award.

Christine Zwozdesky
Christine Zwozdesky

Christine Zwozdesky is the current Chair of RECA and was appointed to Council in 2013 from nominations received from licensed property managers. Council recently appointed her to serve a second three-year term which began Nov. 1, 2016.

Zwozdesky has more than 30 years' experience in the industry, and is a past-president of both the Building Owners and Managers Association – Edmonton Chapter and Edmonton's Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) chapter. She is currently a Director of the Capital Region Housing Corporation Board, and has served on multiple RECA Advisory Committees.
