As the incoming President of the Calgary Real Estate Board, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our 5th anniversary Forecast Conference & Tradeshow.
This is also a special anniversary year for the Calgary Real Estate Board as we are celebrating our 65th anniversary.
It is indeed an honour for me to serve as President in this special year. And throughout this year, much of my presidency will be focused on drawing attention to the good works in our REALTOR® community. We have such a high rate of community activism, and a "culture of volunteerism" within our industry, I want to make it one of my priorities to champion and make public our unsung heroes who give back.
Many of you might not be aware that the Calgary Real Estate Board partnered with the 3 levels of government in order to create and build Crestwood, an affordable housing project of 60 units in Millican-Ogden.
If we each do our part, we make our communities and our cities better places to live and work in.
I am proud that the Calgary Real Estate Board can play a role.
I will also look forward to sharing with you my resale real estate forecast for 2009 at our breakfast on January 21, 2009.
